Where do I even start with Molly and LD?! They reached out and booked me just two weeks before their MacArthur State Park Beach Elopement. Yes, you read that right—just two weeks!! They were previously planning a big wedding but the stars align so perfectly that they couldn’t wait any longer and decided to elope. For Molly and LD, everything fell into place at warp speed. Her parents happened to be in town, which doesn’t happen often, so they took that as a sign from the universe that the timing was right!
We hit the ground running and planned their day within just a week!! And, it was incredible! They chose my 4-hour elopement package, which was just enough time to capture the two of them getting ready together, all the little details from her bouquet to the jewelry and the intimate moments before they met their family.
The ceremony was held at MacArthur State Park, and let me tell you, it was the DREAM Florida beach elopement. The setting was so intimate, with only their closest family there, it felt like we were in our little world. After they exchanged their vows, the newlyweds and I had a blast chasing seagulls along the beach. They laughed, cried, and kissed as the sun started to set; they were so in the moment and in love. It was such a dream to photograph the two of them together!!
One of my favorite moments came right after they said their goodbyes to their family. As we walked down to the beach for their portraits, I asked them to show me through an action that showed how they felt about being married. The result? All the hugs and kisses – it was SO sweet. Molly got overwhelmed with the fact that they were actually married now, saying, “Oh my gosh, I’m going to get emotional,” as tears filled her eyes. LD’s face lit up watching her, and it was clear these two were more than just in love—they were soulmates.
After we took couples portraits on the beach, we didn’t want the magic to end there. We headed to downtown Palm Beach, where they had reservations for a romantic dinner for two at a local restaurant attached to The Ben Hotel in Palm Beach. But first, we spent about 30-45 minutes around the hotel area taking flash portraits. We even stopped for drinks at a bar; Molly and LD were giggling and kissing the entire time. It was the cutest! I loved how they savored each moment, making sure their elopement was not just a short ceremony where they said I do and then just went home, they went out to celebrate that commitment in a way that was so natural and FUN for the both of them!
A moment that really stood out to me from their wedding day was the story behind Molly’s engagement ring—a salt and pepper moissanite ring that was literally so stunning! It symbolized their story perfectly; she’s a waitress who works events, and he’s a chef. They met under unlikely circumstances when she wasn’t even supposed to be at the event where they first crossed paths. Again, with the stars aligning with these two?!
This elopement wasn’t just a day at the beach; it was their love story, full of spontaneous decisions and intimate moments. The final gallery was nothing short of magical, blending filmy, coastal vibes with a fun, modern twist of nighttime flash portraits. As a photographer, capturing such pure, unfiltered love is what I live for! Molly and LD’s day was a beautiful reminder of why I do what I do. Their story was one I’ll never forget. Here’s to many more adventures for Molly and LD—may their life together be as spontaneous and full of love as their elopement day!!
